I really felt for Michael, having finished his latest masterpiece, just for FedEx to smash it to smithereens.
I was able to "deliver" a guitar yesterday, which went far more smoothly. The customer came by and picked the instrument up himself. Highly recommended...if & when possible.

Here's a shot or two that you will probably recognize:

And then this is what makes it all worthwhile:

Ben Arbour with his new Brazilian B/C Sitka SJ.

Thanks for looking,

Steve

Brilliant work as usual Steve. Is that a B-band sticking out of the soundhole in the bottom picture?

Many thanks, guys!

Actually, it's not just the customer's smile that is rewarding--positive feedback from OLF brethren is hard to beat.

Matt--yes, that's that new B-Band 2.2 that Bo was advocating. Thought I'd give it a try.

Hesh--the rosette is a circle of dark Koa, bordered by 1/16" bands of Paua from Andy DePaul. I love his stuff!
Hesh, I figured that 3rd picture would make your nose wrinkle--afterall the back is bordered by w/b/w/b purfling. (Customer's request...honest!)

Thanks again, guys--you're part of the fun for sure.

Beautiful guitar, Steve.

Good timing, too. Perhaps your pics will help cheer up a few of our brethern who've had some very bad luck of late.

Beautiful, as always, Steve. I like everything about it.

I always look forward to seeing your guitars and can't wait to see how you pull off your WFB one of these days!

Right up with the standard Kinnaird quality we've all come to expect. He does look to be a happy customer, but is he sitting down because you just gave him the bill?

Love the wood combination on the neck, have you got a closer shot?

There are some truly remarkable builders on this forum.

Steve,

Fabulous as usual. Ben is a lucky guy. I just love that bearclaw top.

So what was Ben thinking there . . . "Your mine ...or, all B minor"

Gorgeous guitar Steve! That smile says it all!

What is that middle lamination in the neck (matches the heel-cap?)... That's gorgeous!

Wow guys, I'm honored! Thank you.

Colin, let me get a closer shot of the neck/peghead area.
That middle neck lamination is Koa, in the hopes that it would help tie some of the design elements together. And, the back of the peghead has Brazilian/Koa/Braz. veneers.

I would have used Gold tuners on this guitar, I think they would look a bit more in keeping with all else, but the owner--Ben--prefers chrome. So there you go. And again, as long as he is smiling, right?

Evan, you made me laugh, but you know what? It IS a rewarding concept. I need to incorporate it more often...feels good.

JJ, I'm so clogged up with work for next year, that I might as well send that WFB to you. And no kidding, that guitar you posted just haunts me. I so badly want to get going on mine, but....

Again, thanks so much, amigos. It means a lot.

Steve
